Change the Database Connection for a Dataset Table

You can update the connection and database schema details for a table in a dataset. For example, you might want to switch from a development database to a production database, or you might have migrated your data to a different database.

Before you start, make sure that you have a connection to an alternative data source of the same type as the original data source.

1. On the Home page, click Navigator , and then click Data.
2. Click the Datasets tab.
3. Locate the dataset that you want to update, click Actions, and then click Open.
4. In the Join Diagram, right-click the table that you want to configure, and select Replace Connection.

   The Replace Connection dialog displays a list of connections available.
5. Select a connection, then click Validate.
6. If the new connection validates successfully, then click Replace, then Yes.
