Install the Recorder

The recorder is a Google Chrome browser extension that you use to build robots. Everyone who builds robots must install the recorder.

  1. Open Oracle Integration in the Google Chrome browser.
  2. Open any robot.

    Tip:

    If you haven't created a robot yet, you can create one now. See Create a Robot.
    1. In the navigation pane, select Projects.
    2. Select the project name.
    3. In the left toolbar, select Robot Robot.
    4. In the Robots box, select the robot to open.

      The canvas appears.

  3. Navigate to the download area for the recorder extension.
    1. In the toolbar, select Targets Targets.

      The Targets panel appears.

    2. Select Create Create.

      The Target panel appears.

    3. Click within the Locator field, and select Target a page element Target a page element.

      The Browser extension not detected message appears.

  4. Download the recorder extension: Below the Browser extension not detected message, select Download browser extension.

    A ZIP file downloads locally, typically in your Downloads folder.

  5. Install the recorder.
    1. Navigate to the location where the ZIP file downloaded, such as your Downloads folder.
    2. Extract the ZIP file to a location of your choice.
    3. In Google Chrome, open the Extensions Extensions menu, and select Manage Extensions.
    4. In the upper-right corner, select Developer mode, if it's not already selected.

      Don't skip this step, or you won't be able to install the extension.

    5. On the Google Chrome Extensions page, select Load unpacked, located below the page title.
    6. Navigate to the folder where you unzipped the file, select the target folder, and select Select Folder.
  6. Close and reopen the Google Chrome browser.
  7. If you work in an Incognito window, allow the extension in Incognito windows.

    You can perform these steps in an Incognito browser or a regular Chrome browser.

    1. In Google Chrome, open the Extensions Extensions menu, and select Manage Extensions.
    2. In the box for the Oracle Robot Designer Extension, select Details.
    3. Enable the Allow in Incognito setting.
