Manage Exadata Infrastructure
The Exadata Infrastructure (EI) resource represents the Exadata Database Machine system, together with the networking configuration that connects it to Oracle Cloud. It hosts the underlying components Autonomous VM Clusters, Autonomous Container Databases, and Autonomous Databases.
You can use the following sets of instructions to manage your Exadata Infrastructure from the OCI console.
View a List of Exadata Infrastructure Resources
You view a list of Exadata Infrastructure resources by going to the Exadata Infrastructure page.

Procedure

Go to Autonomous Database in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console.
For instructions, see Access Autonomous Database in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console.

In the side menu's list of Autonomous Database resource types, click Exadata Infrastructure.
The Exadata Infrastructure page is displayed, showing the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources in your current compartment. Choose the Compartment where you want to see the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources.

View details of a listed Exadata Infrastructure resource | In the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources, click the name of the resource whose details you want to view. |
Copy the OCID of a listed Exadata Infrastructure resource | In the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources, click the menu in the row of the resource whose OCID you want to copy and then click Copy OCID. The OCID is copied to your clipboard and the menu item changes to Copied. |
Apply tags to a listed Exadata Infrastructure resource | In the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources, click the menu in the row of the resource you want to apply tags to and then click Manage tags. |
Move the Exadata Infrastructure resource to a different compartment | In the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources, click the menu in the row of the resource you want to move and then click Move resource. Choose the new compartment and submit your changes. |
Terminate a listed Exadata Infrastructure resource | In the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources,
click the menu in the row of the resource you want to terminate
the resource. On Oracle Public Cloud, click Terminate.
On Exadata Cloud@Customer,
click Delete. Then, in the subsequent
dialog:

View Details of an Exadata Infrastructure Resource
You view the details of an Exadata Infrastructure resource by going to its Details page.

Go to Autonomous Database in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console.
For instructions, see Access Autonomous Database in the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console.

In the side menu’s list of Autonomous Database resource types, click Exadata Infrastructure.
The list of Exadata Infrastructure resources in your current Compartment is displayed.

Choose the Compartment where you want to see the list of Exadata Infrastructure resources.
The list of Exadata Infrastructure resources refreshes to show those in the selected Compartment.

Click the name of the Exadata Infrastructure resource whose details you want to view.
The Details page for the chosen Exadata Infrastructure resource is displayed.
Features of the Details Page

Copy the resource's OCID | In the General Informationsection, click Copy in the OCID field. |
Edit the resource's maintenance schedule | Under Actions, click
Edit maintenance preferences.
Note: You have another way to edit the maintenance schedule. On Oracle Public Cloud, click Maintenance, and from the Maintenance page, click Edit maintenance run. On Exadata Cloud@Customer, click Maintenance scheduling plan, and from the Maintenance Scheduling Plan page, click Edit Maintenance Preferences. |
View upcoming and past maintenance | Click Maintenance. A list
of upcoming planned maintenance activities, if any, is
displayed.
To view past maintenance activities, click Maintenance History. |
Scale up the resource | Click Scale Infrastructure
and enter new values for Database Servers and/or Storage Servers
choosing the appropriate option. Submit your changes.
You can only enter a value that is greater than the current value of the database or storage servers for the Exadata Infrastructure resource. |
Add tags to the resource |
Click Tags, and from the Tags page, click Add. |
Move the resource to a different compartment |
Under Actions, click Move resource. |
Terminate the resource |
On Oracle Public Cloud, click Terminate under Actions. On Exadata Cloud@Customer, click Delete under Actions. Follow the instructions given in Terminate an Exadata Infrastructure Resource. |
Update the display name |
APPLIES TO: Click Update Display Name under Actions. Enter the new and current display names, and submit your changes. |
View the tags applied to the resource | Click the Tags tab. |
Click Autonomous Exadata VM clusters to view a list of Autonomous Exadata VM Clusters in the selected Compartment that use the chosen Exadata Infrastructure resource. Using this list you can perform a variety of actions.

Move an Exadata Infrastructure Resource to a Different Compartment
You can move an Exadata Infrastructure resource to a different Oracle Cloud Infrastructure compartment.

Note:
As soon as you move an Exadata Infrastructure resource to a different compartment, the policies that govern the new compartment apply immediately and affect access to the resource. Therefore, both your and other Oracle Cloud users' access to the resource may change, depending on the policies governing the user account's access to resources. For example, a user may lose the ability to create Autonomous Exadata VM Clusters on the resource, given its new compartment.use cloud-exadata-infrastructures
in the resource's
current compartment and in the compartment you are moving it to.
Procedure

Go to the Details page of the Exadata Infrastructure resource whose maintenance schedule you want to change.

- Under Actions, click Move resource.

In the Move resource to a Different Compartment page, select the new compartment.

Click Move resource.
Manage Customer Contacts for an Exadata Infrastructure
You can add, edit, and remove customer contacts for an Exadata Infrastructure from its Details page.

Procedure
- Go to the Details page of the Exadata Infrastructure for which you want manage customer contacts. For instructions, see View Details of an Exadata Infrastructure Resource.
- On Oracle Public Cloud, click Manage next to the Customer contact details in the Maintenance section. On Exadata Cloud@Customer, click Manage Contacts under Actions. The page to manage contacts opens, enabling you to perform the following actions:
Add Customer Contacts
You can provide up to ten contacts' email address for operational notifications and announcements. In Oracle Public Cloud, Click Add Contact after entering each email address. In Exadata Cloud@Customer, Provide the Name of the contact, the email address, and an optional phone number. Enable Secondary maintenance contacts to add more contacts. Click +Another Contact after entering details for one contact.
Edit customer contacts
In Oracle Public Cloud, Select the email addresses that you are editing. Click Save after making the changes. In Exadata Cloud@Customer, click on the field you want to make changes ( name or email address or phone number). You can modify the details of a primary contact or secondary contacts. Save your changes.
Delete customer contacts
Select the contact detail to be removed. Click X at the end of the row. The contact details are removed. Save your changes.
Terminate an Exadata Infrastructure Resource
You terminate an Exadata Infrastructure resource by clicking Terminate on its Details page.

Go to the Details page of the Exadata Infrastructure resource which you want to terminate.

click Terminate under Actions. On
Exadata Cloud@Customer, click
Delete under Actions. In the
corresponding dialog:
- Read the warning about terminating the Exadata Infrastructure resource.
- Enter the name of the Exadata Infrastructure resource.
- Confirm your action to begin the termination process.
