Terminate an Autonomous AI Database Instance

Describes the steps to terminate an Autonomous AI Database instance.

Note: Terminating an Autonomous AI Database deletes the instance and it will no longer be available to use. You may undelete a terminated database instance and its retained backups using the Undelete database option. See Undelete a Terminated Autonomous AI Database Instance for more information.

Perform the following prerequisite steps as necessary:

• Open the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console by clicking the next to Cloud.

• From the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure left navigation menu click Oracle AI Database and then click Autonomous AI Database.

• On the Autonomous AI Databases page select an Autonomous AI Database from the links under the Display name column.

To terminate an Autonomous AI Database instance:

1. On the More actions drop-down list menu on theAutonomous AI Database instance, select, select Terminate.

2. On the Terminate Autonomous AI Database page enter the database name to confirm that you want to terminate the database.

   When concurrent operations such as scaling are active, the confirmation also confirms either pausing or canceling the concurrent operation. See Concurrent Operations on Autonomous AI Database for more information.

3. Click Terminate.

Notes for terminating a database:

• There are limitations for terminating a database when Autonomous Data Guard is enabled with a cross region standby database. See Terminate a Cross Region Standby Database for more information.

• You must first terminate the alastic pool before you terminate a database that is an elastic pool leader. See Terminate an Elastic Pool for more information.

• After a database is terminated, you can list the terminated databases. To show terminated databases, on the Autonomous AI Databases list page, in the Search box enter Terminated databases, select Include, and click Apply filter.
