Usage Patterns: Messages

To display the data for a particular group, enter the group name in the Filter by Group box. To return to the default search, All Groups, remove the group name from the search box and click the button next to it.

Keep in mind that message totals include membership messages; for example, if a user adds another user to a conversation, the message announcing the addition is counted as part of the message total.

The following table describes the usage pattern statistics for messages:

Statistic	Description
Overview	The overview shows the following information: Average Messages per User Average Messages per Conversation Average Messages per One-on-One
Number of Messages per User	The bar chart indicates the number of messages created by users.
Total Messages	The pie chart indicates the percentage of messages that were created in conversations, one-on-ones, user walls, collection walls, and group walls, based on the total number of messages in the system.
Message Type Trend	The line graph shows trends in the locations where messages were posted during the previous 12 months.
