Informatica Cloud

Before You Begin

Introduction

This document describes how to configure Oracle Identity Cloud Service to provide Single Sign-On (SSO) for Informatica Cloud using SAML.

About Informatica Cloud

Informatica Cloud delivers enterprise-class cloud integration platform for connecting Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products as well as on-premise software.

After integrating Informatica Cloud with Oracle Identity Cloud Service:

  • Users can access Informatica Cloud using their Oracle Identity Cloud Service login credentials.
  • Users can start Informatica Cloud using the Oracle Identity Cloud Service My Apps console.
  • Admins can assign and revoke user access to the Informatica Cloud app using the Oracle Identity Cloud Service administration console.

What Do You Need?

  • An Oracle Identity Cloud Service account with authorization rights to manage apps and users (Identity Domain Administrator or Application Administrator).
  • An Informatica Cloud account with authorization rights to configure federated authentication.

Configuring the Informatica Cloud App in Oracle Identity Cloud Service

Use this section to register and activate the Informatica Cloud app, and then assign users to the app.

Prerequisite Steps

An organization token is required before you can register and activate the Informatica Cloud app. You can obtain that organization token from Informatica Cloud metadata.

  1. Access Informatica Cloud as an administrator using the URL: https://app.informaticaondemand.com/ma. The Informatica Cloud home page appears.

  2. Hover over Administer, and then select SAML SSO.

  3. Click Service Provider Metadata, and then click Download. In the downloaded metadata, the organization token appears in the entityID: https://<Organization_Token>.app.informaticaondemand.com.

Registering and Activating the Informatica Cloud App

  1. Access the Oracle Identity Cloud Service administration console, select Applications, and then click Add.

  2. Click App Catalog.

  3. Search for Informatica Cloud, and then click Add.

  4. In the App Details section, enter your Informatica Cloud Organization Token, and then click Next.

Note: This is the organization token that you obtained while performing the steps in the "Prerequisite Steps" section.

  5. Click Download Identity Provider Metadata.

Tip: Use this file later during the Informatica Cloud configuration in the "Configuring SSO for Informatica Cloud" section.

  6. Click Finish. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message.

  7. Click Activate, and then click Activate Application. The Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message.

Assigning Users to the Informatica Cloud App

  1. On the Informatica Cloud app page in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, select Users, and then click Assign. The Assign Users window appears.

  2. Select users that you need to assign to Informatica Cloud, and then click OK. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message stating that the Informatica Cloud app is assigned to the users that you selected.

Note: The Informatica Cloud app can be accessed by a user who is assigned to the Informatica Cloud app in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, even if the user doesn’t have an Informatica Cloud account.

Configuring SSO for Informatica Cloud

  1. Access Informatica Cloud as an administrator using the URL: https://app.informaticaondemand.com/ma. The Informatica Cloud home page appears.

  2. Hover over Administer, and then select SAML SSO.

  3. In the View SAML SSO Configuration section, click Edit.

  4. Click Upload XML File, click Browse, upload the metadata file that you downloaded during Informatica Cloud registration in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, and then click OK. See the "Registering and Activating the Informatica Cloud App" section.

  5. In the Single Logout Service URL field, remove the URL, and keep it blank.

  6. Click OK.

Verifying the Integration

Use this section to verify that SSO works when initiated from Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IdP initiated SSO) or from Informatica Cloud (SP initiated SSO).

Verifying Identity Provider Initiated SSO from Oracle Identity Cloud Service

  1. Access the Oracle Identity Cloud Service My Profile console using the URL: https://<IDCS-Service-Instance>.identity.oraclecloud.com/ui/v1/myconsole.

  2. Log in using credentials for a user that is assigned to the Informatica Cloud app. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a shortcut to Informatica Cloud under My Apps.

  3. Click Informatica Cloud. The Informatica Cloud home page appears.

  4. Confirm that the user that is logged in is the same for both Informatica Cloud and Oracle Identity Cloud Service.

This confirms that SSO that is initiated from Oracle Identity Cloud Service works.

Verifying Service Provider Initiated SSO from Informatica Cloud

  1. Access Informatica Cloud using the URL: https://app.informaticaondemand.com/ma/sso/<Organization_Token>. You are redirected to the Oracle Identity Cloud Service login page.

Note: This is the organization token that you obtained while performing the steps in the "Prerequisite Steps" section.

  2. Log in using credentials for a user that is assigned to the Informatica Cloud app. The Informatica Cloud home page appears.

  3. Confirm that the user that is logged in is the same for both Informatica Cloud and Oracle Identity Cloud Service.

This confirms that SSO that is initiated from Informatica Cloud works.
