Before You Begin
Introduction
This document describes how to configure Oracle Identity Cloud Service to provide Single Sign-On (SSO) for SproutVideo using SAML.
About SproutVideo
SproutVideo is a video hosting and video on-demand streaming solution for businesses, websites, and non-profits. It allows users to customize, publish, and track videos online.
After integrating SproutVideo with Oracle Identity Cloud Service:
- Users can access SproutVideo using their Oracle Identity Cloud Service login credentials.
- Users can start SproutVideo using the Oracle Identity Cloud Service My Apps console.
- Admins can assign and revoke user access to the SproutVideo app using the Oracle Identity Cloud Service administration console.
What Do You Need?
- An Oracle Identity Cloud Service account with authorization rights to manage apps and users (Identity Domain Administrator or Application Administrator).
- A SproutVideo account with authorization rights to configure federated authentication.
Configuring the SproutVideo App in Oracle Identity Cloud Service
Use this section to register and activate the SproutVideo app, and then assign users to the app.
Prerequisite Steps
A dedicated account name is required before you can register and activate the SproutVideo app.
Access SproutVideo as an administrator using the URL:
https://sproutvideo.com/login
. The SproutVideo home page appears.In the header menu, hover over VIDEO SITE, and then select SITE SETTINGS from the drop-down list. The Video Site Settings page appears.
Locate Video Site URL, and enter the account name that you registered with the SproutVideo app in the URL:
https://<Account_Name>.vids.io
.Tip: Use the account name value from the Video Site URL later during SproutVideo registration in the "Registering and Activating the SproutVideo App" section. Use this Video Site URL later to initiate single sign-on from the service provider in the "Verifying Service Provider Initiated SSO from SproutVideo" section.
Registering and Activating the SproutVideo App
Access the Oracle Identity Cloud Service administration console, select Applications, and then click Add.
Click App Catalog.
Search for
SproutVideo
, and then click Add.In the App Details section, enter your SproutVideo Account Name, and then click Next.
Tip: This is the account name value that you updated in the "Prerequisite Steps" section.
Click Download Signing Certificate.
Tip: Convert this certificate into Fingerprint format. See the "Converting Oracle Identity Cloud Service Certificate to Fingerprint Format" section.
Click Finish. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message.
Click Activate, and then click Activate Application. The Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message.
Assigning Users to the SproutVideo App
On the SproutVideo app page in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, select Users, and then click Assign. The Assign Users window appears.
Select users that you want to assign to SproutVideo, and then click OK. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a confirmation message stating that the SproutVideo app is assigned to the users that you selected.
Converting Oracle Identity Cloud Service Certificate to Fingerprint Format
Go to
https://www.samltool.com/fingerprint.php
, and then paste the certificate that you downloaded earlier in the X.509 cert text box.Tip: This is the certificate that you downloaded during SproutVideo registration in the "Registering and Activating the SproutVideo App" section.
Select SHA1 from the Algorithm drop-down list, and then click CALCULATE FINGERPRINT.
Make note of the converted fingerprint from the Formatted Fingerprint text box.
NOTE: Use this fingerprint later during SSO configuration in the "Configuring SSO for SproutVideo" section.
Configuring SSO for SproutVideo
Access SproutVideo as an administrator using the URL:
https://sproutvideo.com/login
. The SproutVideo home page appears.In the header menu, hover over VIDEO SITE, and then select SITE SETTINGS from the drop-down list. The Video Site Settings page appears.
In the left navigation menu, click SSO Settings. The SSO Settings page appears.
Use the table to update the federated authentication attributes, and then click SAVE SSO SETTINGS.
This table lists the mandatory federated authentication attributes that you must set to complete the SSO configuration. Attribute Value Enable SSO Turn on the option to enable single sign-on. SAML SSO URL Enter the Sign-in URL/SSO Endpoint: https://<IDCS-Service-Instance>.identity.oraclecloud.com/fed/v1/idp/sso
.Certificate Fingerprint Paste the converted SHA1 fingerprint that you obtained in the "Converting Oracle Identity Cloud Service Certificate to Fingerprint Format" section. Remote logout URL Enter https://sproutvideo.com/
.Note: SproutVideo can be accessed by a user who is assigned to the SproutVideo app in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, even if the user does not have a SproutVideo account.
In the header menu, hover over VIDEO SITE, and then select THEME DESIGN from the drop-down list. The Home page for video publishing appears.
In the upper-right corner of the header, click PUBLISH CHANGES, and then select YES, PUBLISH CHANGES. A confirmation message is displayed stating that the SproutVideo Site has been updated with the changes.
Verifying the Integration
Use this section to verify that SSO works when initiated from Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IdP Initiated SSO) and SproutVideo (SP initiated SSO).
Verifying Identity Provider Initiated SSO from Oracle Identity Cloud Service
Access the Oracle Identity Cloud Service My Profile console using the URL:
https://<IDCS-Service-Instance>.identity.oraclecloud.com/ui/v1/myconsole
.Log in using credentials for a user that is assigned to the SproutVideo app. Oracle Identity Cloud Service displays a shortcut to SproutVideo under My Apps.
Click SproutVideo. The SproutVideo home page appears.
This confirms that SSO that is initiated from Oracle Identity Cloud Service works.
Verifying Service Provider Initiated SSO from SproutVideo
Access SproutVideo using the URL:
https://<Account_Name>.vids.io
. You are redirected to the Oracle Identity Cloud Service login page.Tip: You obtained this URL by performing the steps in the "Prerequisite Steps" section.
Log in using credentials for a user that is assigned to the SproutVideo app. The SproutVideo home page appears.
This confirms that SSO that is initiated from SproutVideo works.

Unknown Issues
For unknown issues, contact Oracle Support:
Go to https://support.oracle.com.
Select Cloud Support, and then sign in with your support credentials.
In the Cloud Dashboard, confirm that there are no planned outages in Oracle Identity Cloud Service, and then click Create Service Request.
Select Oracle Identity Cloud Service as the service type.
Complete your service request.
