Host (AIX)

There are no specific host metrics for AIX. All performance and configuration metrics are inherited from a parent entity as listed below.

Note:

In this release, the CPU Hardware Configuration metrics are not supported on AIX.

CPU . Interval sec Interval of metric collection
Memory Load Memory Usage GB Memory used in GB
Memory Utilization Memory Utilization %

The percentage of host memory that is being used by processes (both userspace and kernel space) including the OS overhead, such as buffers, caches. Depending on environmental load and host resources, OS overhead can inflate actual memory utilization metrics. In this situation, using Logical Memory Utilization will be more accurate.

Memory Load Memory Load GB Sum of memory used and page faults generated in GB
Memory Load Logical Memory Usage GB Memory used in GB excluding buffers and cache
Memory Utilization Logical Memory Utilization %

The percentage of host memory that is being used by processes (both userspace and kernel space) excluding OS overhead such as buffers and caches. As the memory used by OS overhead processes could be reallocated to userspace processes, if needed, its exclusion provides a reasonable estimate of how much memory is available for starting new applications without swapping.
