1 What's New in Release 4.4.0

Here’s an overview of new features and enhancements added to Oracle Visual Builder Add-in for Excel in Release 4.4.0.

New and Changed Features

Error Management	New buttons on the Oracle Visual Builder tab for navigating to the next or previous issue in your workbook's tables. See Review Upload Issues.
Flexfield Support	Support for always sending the primary key fields of DFF and EFF extended attribute child business objects during update requests. See Check the Primary Keys of Child Polymorphic Business Objects.
Dependent Layouts	A simplified process for creating new child rows. See Create New Rows for a Set of Dependent Layouts in Managing Data Using Oracle Visual Builder Add-in for Excel. The download option, Retrieve Descendant Rows in Single Payload has been moved to the Download tab of the Layout Designer from the Advanced tab.
Search	New date pickers in search windows for date-type fields A new Values Editor for "in" type searches. See Edit Values for an IN Operator Search in Managing Data Using Oracle Visual Builder Add-in for Excel.
Local Data Source	Ability to import values for a local data source from a comma-separated values file. See Import Data for a Local Data Source.
List of Values	Ability to create and edit local data sources from the List of Values editor. See Configure a List of Values with a Local Data Source. Support for referencing a row finder variable in a path parameter value expression when configuring a child business object as a data source. See Use a Child Business Object as a Data Source. Improved validation messaging when a business user enters a value for a list of values that is not valid
Service metadata	The default values for business object fields, custom action fields, and polymorphic fields are now harvested from OpenAPI metadata when available. See Default Value Harvesting.
Expression Editor	New pickers for expression elements, such as row finder variables, in the Expression Editor. See Create an Expression Using the Expression Editor.
Layout Setup	List of Values business objects are now hidden by default when choosing the layout's primary business object.
Platforms	Added support for Excel 2024
Branding	Updated icons and logo in various windows, installers, and the Client Health Check tool
