1 About Migrating
These topics help you learn about the benefits to migrating your
existing Oracle Java Cloud
Service instances to Oracle WebLogic Server for
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Oracle WebLogic Server for
OCI), and also provide an overview of the migration process and
tools.
Note:
Your Oracle Java Cloud Service instances may be running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic (OCI-C). To determine if your instances are on OCI or OCI-C, see the Oracle Support note 2984700.1.If all the following prerequisites are met, then proceed with the migration process described in this guide:
- The Oracle Java Cloud Service uses Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Database (not classic DBCS) or Autonomous database.
- The version of the Oracle Java Cloud Service is 12.2.1.x or later.
- If you plan to use the same VCN for Oracle Java Cloud Service and Oracle WebLogic Server for OCI.
Note:
- If you plan to migrate Oracle Java Cloud Service to Oracle WebLogic Server for OCI, where Oracle Java Cloud Service uses a classic DBCS, then follow the instructions in the Migrating JCS on OCI-C to Oracle WebLogic Server for OCI Using tar guide. Although your instance is on OCI, the instructions for performing the DBCS migration and corresponding data source updates are applicable to this case.
- If you plan to migrate Oracle Java Cloud Service in OCI Classic to Oracle WebLogic Server for OCI, follow the instructions in the Migrating JCS on OCI-C to Oracle WebLogic Server for OCI Using tar guide.
