Prepare for Migration

Before you start the migration process, you need to complete the prerequisites steps in Before You Begin with Oracle WebLogic Server for OCI.

When performing the pre-requisites steps, ensure to complete the following recommendation:Set Oracle Java Cloud Service WebLogic administration user name and password as the OCI secret.

This ensures that your password with the WebLogic Server global "Admin" role in the Oracle Java Cloud Service instance is stored as an OCI secret to support running the required start or stop scripts. See Default Global Roles.
  1. Make a note of the user name and password for a user with the WebLogic Server administration role in the Oracle Java Cloud Service.
  2. When you get to the prerequisite step Create Secrets for Passwords, add the password to the OCI secrets.
