Create an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Database System

Create a 12.2.x Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Database System using the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console (see Creating a DB System) or use an existing 12.2.x Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Database System. You must create the database system in the same region as the Oracle WebLogic Server for OCI instance to which you plan to migrate the Oracle Java Cloud Service instance.

To simplify the migration, if you are creating a new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Database System, follow these guidelines:

• Under Configure storage, change the storage to Logical Volume Manager.
  • This storage option is consistent with the storage option that DBCS uses.
  • If you choose Oracle Grid Infrastructure, you will need to perform additional actions for the Oracle Data Pump import to succeed. See Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Database System with Oracle Grid Infrastructure.
• Create the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Database System in the same VCN that you will use for the WebLogic Server in Oracle WebLogic Server for OCI.
