Predicting and Reviewing Matches Using Transaction Matching Assistance

Use the Unmatched Transactions tab in the Matching dialog to predict potential matches for one or more unmatched source system or subsystem transactions.

Prerequisites

1. Training must be completed successfully for the match type for which potential matches must be predicted.

   See Training Match Predictions with Transaction Matching Assistance.

2. Auto Match must be run for the match type.

   A Predict Match job automatically runs after Auto Match. This job identifies and predicts potential matches for unmatched transactions in match type.

Steps to Predict Matches

1. From the Home page, select Matching.
2. Click the name of the reconciliation for which you want to predict potential matches.
3. In the Matching dialog, click the Unmatched Transactions tab.
4. (Optional) Filter and display transactions that have available predicted matches.

   From View, select Select Columns, and then move Predictions Available to the Selected Values list. Click OK.

   You can also create a filter and include the Predictions Available attribute in a filter condition.

5. Select one or more transactions, from the source system and subsystem, for which you want to find potential matches and then click Predict Match.

   The system searches for the most appropriate predicted matches for the selected transactions and displays the results in the Predicted Matches pop-up. If there is insufficient training data, no predicted matches are found, and a message is displayed.

   Note:

   The Predict Match button is disabled if the prerequisites are not met.
6. In the Predicted Matches pop-up, use Next and Previous to review each predicted match before taking further action.

   A Prediction Confidence is displayed for each predicted match. When multiple predicted matches are available for a particular unmatched transaction, each of them may have a different Prediction Confidence. Review the predicted match, along with its confidence score, to determine the most appropriate match for the selected transaction.

7. Identify the most appropriate match and click Confirm to create a manual match with the displayed transactions.

   The match can be an exact match or it may need an adjustment. In the case of Match with Adjustment, select values for Adjustment Type and Adjustment To.

8. (Optional) For predicted matches that are not suitable for matching, click Discard. Discarded predictions are not used for matching but are retained for review.
