Address, Email, and Phone Verification - Overview of the setup process
Set up your account
1. Order subscription
- Contact Oracle Sales to order a subscription for Address, Email, and Phone Verification.
2. Add subscription to Oracle Cloud account
- You'll get an email titled:
Action Required: Welcome to Oracle Cloud. Please Add Your Subscription(s) to a Cloud Account to Get Started.
- If you have an existing account, click Activate into Existing Cloud Account. We recommend using your existing account to manage all Oracle services.
- If you need a new account, click Create New Cloud Account.
Note: The admin running this step should be the admin of the cloud account where you want this subscription added.
3. Activate service
- You'll get a second email titled:
Action Required: Please Activate Your Services.
- In the email, under Access Details, click Create Instance.
- Sign in with the temporary password listed in the email. You'll be prompted to change this password.
Temporary passwords expire after 60 days. Contact Oracle Support if you need to request a new password.
4. Create instance
- On the Oracle Cloud Dashboard, click Create Instance.
- Click Create for the Data service. Data is the cloud service instance that hosts both Verification and Data as a Service (DaaS).
- Enter a name for this instance, confirm your administrator, then click Create.
- Click Create again, to confirm the instance details.

5. Access service
- The person you designated as the administrator will get an email titled:
Action Required: Your new Data as a Service instance in Cloud Account is ready.
- In the email, click Access Your New Services.
- On the Oracle Cloud Console, click the Data application to see the Verification API URL.
- Note: The Billing Metrics and Documents tabs are not applicable for the Data service.
6. Add users
- On the Oracle Cloud Console application menu, under Account Management, click Users.
- On the Users page, click Add to add a user with the DATASERVICE_USER or DATASERVICE_ADMINISTRATOR role.
- If the new user doesn't already have a password for this domain, they get an email with a temporary password.

7. Integrate with Sales or Procurement
- Sign in to Sales or Procurement.
- Note: The user must have the DATASERVICE_CLIENT_API_APPID role. For details, see How to Begin.
- In the Setup and Maintenance work area, select the Sales - Integrations task Manage Integration with Oracle Verification Services.
- Select Oauth Authentication. See Add a Confidential Application to get the Client ID and Secret. On the Add Confidential Application wizard Client page:
- For Allowed Grant Types, select Resource Owner, Client Credentials, and Refresh Token. Leave Redirect URL blank.
- Note: If you use Basic authentication instead, do not include the question mark special character (?) in the password.
- URL: Enter your instance URL. Remove /data/ui from the end. For example: https://dataservice-identitydomain.data.us2.oraclecloud.com.
- Click Save and Close.
Modify your service
8. Update subscription
- Expand or renew your subscription by contacting Oracle Sales.
- You'll get an activation email titled:
- Your service has been updated.
9. Modify service
- On the Cloud Console Dashboard, select your active Data service.
- On the Overview page, click the Action Menu, and then click Modify.
- On the Modify page, leave all default values, and click the Modify button.
- Confirm that you want to modify this instance.
- You'll get an activation email titled:
- Your service instance has been updated.
