About Backup and Restore

Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse relies on Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse as the data store and Oracle Analytics Cloud for it’s semantic models and reports. In addition, Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse has certain metadata around configurations and extensions.

Use these database backup options:
  • Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse has automated daily backups for the last 60 days. Use these backups to restore the database within a region. See About Backup and Recovery on Autonomous Database.
  • Oracle Data Pump is an option to export Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse to a resilient file store like Oracle Storage Service. In the case of a region-wide failure, you can import these files into a database in another region. See Overview of Oracle Data Pump.

Oracle Analytics Cloud traditionally provides snapshots as a mechanism to backup artifacts. However, since the Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse data model file isn't directly available to you, the Snapshots capability is turned off. In order to backup the Oracle Analytics Cloud artifacts along with the Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse customizations and configurations, use the Bundles feature. For example, you can export a Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse environment bundle periodically (for example, weekly) to a resilient file store like Oracle Storage Service. In the case of a failure, you can import the bundle into another Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse environment and deploy it. See Bundle Your Application Artifacts.
