Configure SCD Behavior

You can configure whether a dimension uses Type 1 or Type 2 SCD by setting the TYPE2_FLG parameter.

1. Navigate to: EBS_CONFIG → Console_Configurations.hrf.

2. Locate the dataset: C_PARAMETER_VALUE_FORMATTER_V_DS_IN

3. Update the value of the TYPE2_FLG parameter: Dimensions with Type 2 Enabled by Default

   • • Y – Enables Type 2 SCD

     • N – Enables Type 1 SCD

   Note: Choose Type 1 or Type 2 based on whether the dimension attributes are historically significant and need to be preserved.

   The following dimension tables have Type 2 SCD enabled by default (TYPE2_FLG = Y):

   • DW_EB_X_EBS_COMMON_W_CUSTOMER_LOC_D

   • DW_EB_X_EBS_COMMON_W_BUSN_LOCATION_D

   • DW_EB_X_EBS_COMMON_W_EMPLOYEE_D

   • DW_EB_X_EBS_COMMON_W_PARTY_ORG_D

   • DW_EB_X_EBS_COMMON_W_PARTY_PER_D

   • DW_EB_X_EBS_COMMON_W_POSITION_D

   • DW_EB_X_EBS_COMMON_W_USER_D

   If required, you can change the TYPE2_FLG setting for these tables to disable Type 2 processing and use Type 1 behavior instead.
