SCD Configuration Overview

When a dimension record is updated, the warehouse can process the change using one of the following methods:

• Type 1 SCD – The existing record is overwritten with the latest values. Historical values are not retained.

• Type 2 SCD – A new version of the record is created while preserving the previous version, enabling historical reporting and point-in-time analysis.

The SCD processing is applied after data extraction and transformation, ensuring that the logic is source-independent.
