Provision a User with Access to BICC

Set up a user who can access BICC. Below are details of how to create a custom role; you can also assign a user the BI Administrator role, which also has BICC Console access.

Before you start

You must set up the access using the Security Console of Oracle Applications Cloud. Therefore, make sure you have the Security Manager role assigned to you so that you can access the Security Console.

Here's what to do

  1. Sign in to Oracle Applications Cloud and click Navigator > Tools > Security Console .
  2. Click the Roles tab and click Create.
  3. On the Basic Information page, enter the following values and click Next.

    Role Name BIACM_ADMIN
    Role Code BIACM_ADMIN
    Role Category BI - Abstract Roles
  4. Click Next to navigate to the subsequent pages. You can skip entering details on the Function Security Policies and Data Security Policies pages.
  5. On the Role Hierarchy page, click Add Role.
  6. On the Add Role Membership dialog box, search for the following roles and click Add Role Membership to add them.
    • ESS Administrator Role: To create and manage schedules for global data extracts or jobs.

    • ORA_ASM_APPLICATION_IMPLEMENTATION_ADMIN_ABSTRACT: To have access to global offerings and data stores or jobs.

  7. Close the Add Role Membership dialog box and click Next.
  8. Skip entering details on the Segregation of Duties page and click Next.
  9. On the Users page, click Add User.
  10. On the Add User dialog box, search for and select the user to whom you want to assign this role.
  11. Click Add Selected Users and close the dialog box.
  12. Click Next. Review the summary and click Save and Close.
