Synchronize User Accounts

Administrators can synchronize Service and Knowledge Advanced user accounts by running the shadow account batch job. You can run the job manually or queue it to run daily. The default setting is to run the job manually. When you run the job manually, it runs once within 15 minutes.

When the shadow account job runs, it does the following:

  • Gets all user accounts created in Service since the last job completed and creates knowledge users.

  • Inactivates knowledge users whose accounts are disabled or deleted in Service, and removes them from assigned tasks.

Note: If a disabled user account has been reactivated in Service, the shadow account job does not reactivate the user account in Knowledge Advanced.

You can view the history of previous jobs by clicking History. The job history includes information about inactivated accounts.

  3. Click Configure under Shadow Account.

  4. Click Schedule to run the job now.

  5. (Optionally) Select Yes for Queue shadow account job to run daily to run the job on a daily basis.
