Add Additional Upload File Types

Knowledge Advanced attachments uploading supports all image file types (bmp, gif, jpg, jpeg, and png) by default. You can configure the following additional file types for authors to upload: flv, mov, mp4, mpeg4, pdf, tif, and wmv.

Before you start

You must have the Content Management activity permission to configure additional upload files types. For more information on Content Management activity permissions, see Select Content Management Activities.

Use the following procedure to add upload file types.

Here's what to do

  1. Click the Tools tab and click System > Configuration > File Attachment Configuration.

    Knowledge Advanced displays the File Attachment Configuration page.

  2. Click Override default configuration.
  3. Under CKFinder Link File Extension Filter, enter the file extension, separated by commas, for each file type you want to make available to authors when they create articles. For example, enter bmp,gif,jpeg,jpg,png.
  4. Click Save.
    You can also click Revert to Default Configuration to restore the default configuration or Cancel to return to the previous page without saving your changes.
