Define the URL Answer Content Type

You can define a URL Answer content type to create a link to a web page as the knowledge base answer.

  1. At the Repository tab, add a new content type for the URL Answer. You must name the content type URL_ANSWER.

    The new content type appears in the list on the Repository tab.

  2. Select the new URL_ANSWER content type and select Schema.
  3. At the Schema Properties page, select Add Attribute, enter Summary for the attribute name, and complete the required fields.
    1. Enter the attribute name in the Attribute Name field and press Tab.
      The Reference Key field is automatically populated.
    2. Enter a short description for the attribute in the Description field.
    3. Select Text Field under Select Attribute Type.
  4. Select Save Attribute Properties.
  5. Repeat steps 3 through 4 to create and save another text field attribute named URL.
  6. After adding the two attributes, select Save attribute.

Results:

The URL answer content type has been added to your knowledge base.

Note:

Rating options are disabled for the URL Answer content type because end users never visit the answer page. Answers open the URL directly.
