Remove a Field from the Design Space

You can also quickly remove any fields that you no longer need.

Just as rows and columns can be added to a table when you add fields to the design space, the table rows and columns will be deleted when you move or delete the only remaining field in the row or column.
  1. From the open workspace or script, do one of the following:
    • Right-click the field and select Delete. The Delete Confirmation window opens.
    • Select the field, click the Design tab, and then click Delete.
Caution: The Delete Confirmation window displays a warning if the field you are deleting is used in a rule. If the rule checks or changes the value of the field you want to remove, the window will display a warning, but the rule will remain active after the field is removed. However, if the rule affects the required, visibility, or read-only properties of the field you want to remove, you will receive a warning and the rule will be disabled after the field is removed. See Overview of Workspace Rules.
  2. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
