Search for a File to Attach to a Record

You can search for files you want to attach to a record.

  1. Click the Attachments tab.
  2. Click Add Files and select Search.
    The File Search window opens.
  3. Enter field information.

    Field Description
    Search directory Enter the name of the directory where you want to search for the file, or click Browse.
    Browse Click Browse to display the file structure and make a selection from the list of available directories.
    Part of file name or extension Enter all or part of the file name in this field.

    This field uses an implicit wildcard at the end of the entry.

    Filters To select a filtering option for narrowing the search, clear the All Files (*.*) check box, which is selected by default.
    Documents (*.doc, *.xls, *.pdf, *.txt) Select this check box to search for document files.
    Audio (*.mp3, *.wav, *.wma) Select this check box to search for audio files.
    Images (*.jpg, *.bmp, *.gif) Select this check box to search for graphics files.
    All Files (*.*) Select this check box if you do not want to restrict the search by file type.
  4. Click Search to display a list of files that meet the search criteria.
  5. Click a file to select it for uploading.
  6. To attach additional files to the record, press Ctrl while selecting the files.
  7. Click Add Files.
