If you encounter issues with using Oracle Oracle Unity, this topic provides tips for troubleshooting.

General tips

To learn more about error messages in Oracle Unity and how to resolve them, see the table below.

Error

"We could not <action> this <object>." For example, "We could not save this data object." This error usually occurs when there is an interrupted connection between the Oracle Unity web browser session and the server, which prevents the system from performing the action you selected.

There was either a problem with your connection or with our server. Please check with your System Administrator, or try again later.
Error "Error retrieving tenant info." Oracle Unity attempted to load your data, and there was either a problem with your connection or with our server. Please check with your System Administrator, or try again later.
Error Oracle Unity services are temporarily unavailable. Please wait until Oracle Unity services are available.
Error Oracle Unity is having a network issue. Please wait until the network issue is resolved.

Data tips

Message Type Description Action Required
Error

Error "We could not get the log file for this job." [same as above]
Error "We could not go back to the point where you last saved." [same as above]
Error "Error deleting attribute". This can be caused when there are API errors or possibly if someone deleted the attribute in a different session. Try again later, or log out of the session and log back in to see if the attribute was deleted already.

Connection issues

If you encounter connection issues when creating and setting up sources or destinations, it could be for one of the following reasons.

Responsys API

  • An incorrect username and password for the API user.
  • The password for the API user is expired.
  • The user authentication options for the API user only allow for certificate authentication. Contact your Responsys Account Administrator to update the authentication options to allow for password authentication or to obtain a different API user who can authenticate using a password.

SFTP server

  • An incorrect SFTP server name.
  • An incorrect authentication key.

If you still encounter connection issues withe the SFTP server, contact your IT administrator for further investigation.
