Querying Viewpoints with the Assistant

Use the Change Management Assistant to quickly search and retrieve data from a viewpoint using natural language. The assistant interprets your request, runs the appropriate query, and returns a summary of the results along with direct access to view and refine those results on the Viewpoint Query tab (see Querying a Viewpoint).

Note:

When using the assistant to query viewpoints, the same considerations as running viewpoint queries from the Viewpoint Queries tab apply. See Considerations in Querying a Viewpoint.

Query nodes based on properties.
  • Find members where Email contains "gov".
  • Show all nodes with the revenue account type.
  • Show me members where GPA is between 3.5 and 4.0
  • Show me employees where Birthday is before 1/1/2000
Query nodes based on their node type. Find all cost centers without an assigned manager.
Query nodes based on their orphan status. Find orphan nodes.
Query nodes below a node. Find nodes where name contains "111" below node "10000".
Query nodes in a different viewpoint. Show me nodes where name contains "111" in the Entity viewpoint.

After you initiate a query in the chat client, you can click the query results link to navigate to the Viewpoint Query tab (see Querying a Viewpoint) to view and edit the query that the assistant constructed for you. If you make changes directly on the Viewpoint Query tab, the assistant is refreshed with the updates so that you can continue to make change either on the tab or in the assistant.
