Running Oracle Integration Cloud Integrations

After you register an Oracle Integration Cloud integration, you can run it from the Integrations page in Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Data Management and monitor its progress.

You can also view history for integrations that are run directly from OIC when they are configured to record integration history in Cloud EDM.

Considerations

  • You must have the Integrations - Manage granular role or be a Service Administrator to run an integration from Cloud EDM.
  • The Integrations - Manage granular role does not grant permission to perform the Cloud EDM operations included in an integration. The connection to Cloud EDM that is configured in OIC must use a Cloud EDM user who has the appropriate permissions to perform those operations, such as extracts, imports, exports, and loads.
  • You can run an integration from Cloud EDM or directly from OIC. For example, an integration can be scheduled to run in OIC and its history can be viewed in Cloud EDM.
  • To record integration runs that are initiated directly from OIC in Cloud EDM, the integration must be configured to use the Cloud EDM integration history APIs. See Recording Integration History for Oracle Integration Cloud Integrations.
  • The Actions section for an integration run can contain Cloud EDM tasks as well as custom tasks performed outside of Cloud EDM. Cloud EDM tasks are recorded using their existing job history. Custom task history can be used to record significant non-EDM operations performed by the integration.
  • The Run Integration button is unavailable if Cloud EDM cannot locate the associated OIC process. If this occurs, verify that the process still exists in the connected OIC environment.
  • You can also use the REST API to run OIC integrations from Cloud EDM. Use this option to automate integration runs. See OIC Integrations in REST API for Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Data Management.

Running an Integration

  1. From the Tools cluster, click Integrations.
  2. On the integration that you want to run, click Actions Action menu icon, and then select Run.
  3. Review the integration information, and then click Run Integration.

    Cloud EDM starts the associated OIC process and displays information about the run in the History section.

  4. Monitory the integration as it runs.

    The History section displays the status, duration, and user who initiated the integration. The page is periodically updated while the integration is running.

    Expand the integration to view:

    • Messages, which displays status messages for the integration.
    • Actions, which displays the operations performed by the integration, including the operation, object, application, dimension, duration, status, and message, as applicable.

Viewing Integration History

The History section of the Run Integration page displays current and previous runs of the integration. History can include integrations that were initiated from Cloud EDM as well as integrations that were initiated directly from OIC and configured to record their history in Cloud EDM.

For each integration run, the Run By column identifies the user or service identity that initiated the integration. For integrations run from Cloud EDM, this is the Cloud EDM user who ran the integration. For integrations run directly from OIC, this is the user or service identity that initiated the run in OIC and may not correspond to a Cloud EDM user.

To view integration history:

  1. From the Tools cluster, click Integrations.
  2. On the integration that you want to view history for, click the Actions Action menu icon menu, and then click Run to open the Run Integrations page.

    Tip:

    Opening the Run Integration page does not start the integration. The integration runs only after you click Run Integration on that page. You can view current and previous integration runs without starting a new run.
  3. In the History section, locate the integration run that you want to view.
  4. Expand the integration run to view its messages and actions.

    For Cloud EDM operations, the Actions section displays information about the associated Cloud EDM job. For custom operations performed outside of Cloud EDM, the information displayed depends on the task history recorded by the OIC integration.
