Overview of Table Properties

The following table properties are available in the Properties panel while editing a table:

general properties iconGeneral Properties

General properties affect the entire table. Use general properties to edit some of the following types of items:

  • View or change the table's data source

  • Set a title to be displayed above the table

  • Define the default table behaviors for row and column sizing, row banding, and drill to source.

  • Set the member heading properties

  • Define the text replacement label for error data cells

filter properties iconFilter and Aggregation Criteria Properties

The Criteria properties consists of the Filter Criteria and Aggregation Criteria, which allow filtering of the table data based on conditions met, prompt or POV selections, etc. For more information, see Criteria Properties.

column properties iconColumn Properties

Column properties affect an entire column. You must click in a column header to select the column that you want to view the properties for. Use column properties to override the default table settings for column width, repeated headings, and data formats.

row properties iconRow Properties

Row properties affect an entire row. You must click in a row header to select the row that you want to view the properties for. Use row properties to override the default table settings for row height, repeated headings, and row banding.

cell properties iconCell Properties

Cell properties affect the selected range of cells in a table. Use cell properties to change the way cell text is formatted. For example, you can change the number, date and time formatting, and you can change the font, color, and size of text within a cell. You can add borders or shading to a cell range, and specify indent options. You can also show or hide cell attachment links for selected cells in the table that have attachments at the data source. You can sort columns in a table. You can add multiple columns sorts and change the order that the specified columns are sorted.

conditional format icon Conditional Properties

Conditional formatting, text and suppression enables you to define formatting, text or suppress cells in a table that meet conditions that you define. See Working with Conditions.

drill to icon Drill To Content

Drill to content allows you to set up content links on grid cells, rows, columns and member heading cells to enable end users to drill to reports, third-party documents in the Library and custom URL links. For more information, see Drill To Content.
