Saving Text Objects

Save text objects to the repository for reuse when building reports.

When you save a text object, you can create a link between the text object and the source object in the repository. When you save a text object in the repository, you can insert it into a report as a linked or an unlinked object.

Note:

Changes to a linked object are not saved when you save and close your design.

To save a text object in the repository:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click the text object, and then select Save.
    • Select the text object, and then click Save Object button.
  2. In the Save Report Object dialog box, select a folder in which to store the text object, or create a new folder.

When you save a text object, only the text object is saved, not the entire report design.
