Panels Containing Dialog Boxes Fail to Reopen in Browser

In Oracle Smart View for Office (Mac and Browser), panels that open a dialog box and are launched from the Smart View ribbon or the Provider ribbon may fail to launch for a second time. This behavior is observed in most panels (except the Home panel) after the panel has been previously opened and closed. This behavior is observed only in the browser version of Smart View (Mac and Browser), and works fine on the Mac.

When working in panels such as Rules on Form, Options, POV, Cascade, Function Builder, or Approvals, you can open dialog boxes from these panels to perform further tasks. If you close such a panel containing dialog boxes and try to open it again from the ribbon menu, the panel fails to open. This is a known issue caused by a bug in the Microsoft 365 framework.

Workaround: Use the following steps to reopen panels with dialog boxes:

1. Refresh the browser.
2. Click Refresh in the Smart View ribbon.
3. Wait for the provider ribbon tab to appear.
4. Now try to launch the panel again by clicking the relevant ribbon menu. The panel should now open properly.
