Installing the EPM Books Extension

Data source types: Planning, Planning Modules, Financial Consolidation and Close, Tax Reporting, Narrative Reporting

This topic covers installing the EPM Cloud Books extension from within Oracle Smart View for Office.

Before you begin this procedure, complete the steps in "Creating Connections to Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud Business Processes."

You can also install the extension from the business process web interface; for example, from the Planning web interface. To install the extension from the web, see:

To install the Books extension from Smart View:

  1. In the Smart View ribbon, select Options, and then Extensions.

    Note:

    If the Extension Alerts dialog was displayed when you completed the steps in "Creating Connections to EPM Cloud Business Processes", then you should already be in the Extensions tab of the Options dialog.

  2. Click the Check for Updates, New Installs, and Uninstalls link.
  3. In Select Location for Extension Updates, select the check box that corresponds to your Books connection, and then click Get Updates.

    The dialog box expands to display a message window providing you with the progress and status of the extension query.

  4. Click Close in the Select Location for Extension Updates dialog to return to the Extensions tab of the Options dialog.
  5. In the list of extensions in the Extensions tab, locate EPM Cloud Book and click the Install link, The Install link with the red arrow next to it, to launch the installer.
  6. In the popup dialog asking "Apply this extension update?", click Yes, and then click OK to close the Options dialog, Extensions tab.

  7. In the message dialog informing you that the installation is successful and instructing you to restart Office, click OK, and then close and restart Office.

After completing the procedure in this topic, you are ready to begin using the Book extension with Smart View.

Note:

If you need to uninstall the Books extension, use the Check for Updates, New Installs, and Uninstalls link in the Smart View Options dialog, Extensions tab. The extension will be flagged for removal. Select the Remove link in the Extensions tab, and restart Office when prompted. The process is described in Uninstalling Extensions.
