Shared Variables provide a centralized storage for common static variables which can be used in multiple Report Packages. These variables are designed for common reporting content (like company names, reporting period, program titles) whose values are static or infrequently modified within a reporting cycle.

Shared Variable Value Sets allow a variable’s values to change between reporting cycles. The Value Set ensure that all Report Packages within a reporting cycle are using consistent values for their shared variables.
