Creating a Model

To create a model:

  1. From the Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management Home page, select Modeling, and then Models.

  2. On the Models page, click Create Model icon (Create Model icon).

  3. In the Create Model dialog box, enter a Name and Description for your model.

    The name cannot contain any special characters.

  4. Optional: You can define default member selections for dimensions that will use the same member for all the rules in the model. Defining default member selections saves you from having to select the members for a dimension each time the dimension is used in a rule.

    To define default member selections:

    1. In the Model Context section, click the Add Dimensions drop-down and select a dimension.

    2. Click Select Member, and then click Invoke Member Selector icon (Invoke Member Selector icon).

    3. In the Select Members dialog box, select the member that you want to assign to the dimension, and then click OK.

      When making default member selections, you can select only level 0 members. See Using the Member Selector for more information about using the Select Members dialog box.

  5. Click Save and Close to return to the Models page.
