Deleting Members

Each data value is identified by a set of dimension member values and a cube. Deleting dimension members or deselecting cubes in a member's properties results in data loss when refreshing an application.

Before deleting members, it is important to understand where in the application they are used (in which forms, approval units, exchange rates, and so on). To do this, select the member in the Edit Member Properties grid, click Actions, and select Show Usage.

You must delete the entity member throughout the application before deleting it from dimension. For example, if the entity member is used in a form, you must delete it from the form before deleting it from dimensions.

If you delete members from dimensions that are referenced in existing rules, the rules can't run.

To delete members:

  1. From the Home page, select Application, and then Overview.

  2. On the Application page, select the Dimensions tab.

  3. Select a cube, and then click the name of the dimension that contains the member you want to delete.

  4. On the Edit Member Properties page, select the member to delete, and click Delete button (Delete Member icon).

    Note:

Deleting a base member also deletes its descendants and associated shared members.

  5. Click OK in the Delete Member confirmation window.
