Navigating Quickly in a Form

How you navigate depends on whether you just clicked into a cell or are editing cell data. For example, when you are editing data in a cell, you must click Tab to move to the next cell.

You can quickly move around a form with these shortcut keys:

Key or Key Combination Result
Tab Moves to the next cell in the row. When focus is on the last cell of a row, Tab moves to the next row.
Enter Moves to the next cell in the column.
Shift+Enter Moves to the previous cell in the column.
Shift+Tab Moves to the previous cell in the row.
Up Arrow, Down Arrow Moves up or down to the previous or next row.
Right Arrow, Left Arrow While editing in a cell, moves forward and backward in the cell data. If you are navigating the grid cells without editing, moves to the next cell or previous cell in the row.
Ctrl+Home Moves to the first cell in the form.
Ctrl+End Moves to the last cell in the form.
Ctrl+Left Arrow Moves to the first cell in the current row.
Ctrl+Right Arrow Moves to the last cell in the current row.
Shift+End Moves to the last cell of the first row.
Ctrl+A Selects all cells.
Shift+Space Selects the row.
Ctrl+Space Selects the column.
Esc Discards the current changes in the cell, restoring the previous state.

These shortcuts are available only if you're accessing forms from the desktop.
