Add a Shift or Nonworking Time to a Work Schedule in Oracle Fusion Field Service
After you've created a work schedule, you can add the shifts and nonworking times that will be included in the overall period of time.
- In Fusion Setup and Maintenance, go to Navigator > My Enterprise > Offering Setup. Select the Field Service offering. In the Scheduling and Dispatch functional area, select the Shifts and Schedules task. The Shifts page displays all the shifts you've created so far.
- In the Setup field in the header, select Work Schedules.

Select Items in the Actions
column.
The Items page appears.

[Optional] Select Effective date and select a
date.
The Work Schedule Items that are active on the selected date are displayed. Based on this information you can decide whether you want to create a new work schedule.

Click the plus icon.
The Add Work Schedule Item drawer opens and displays the General Settings and Recurrence Settings tabs.

To add a shift, select Shift and complete these
fields:
- General Settings tab:
- Shift: Select a shift that you want to
add to the work schedule. These shifts are available for
selection:
- Shifts that aren't related to any organization (empty Organization field).
- Shifts within the same organization that are configured for the schedule.
- Shifts that are currently configured for the selected schedule, even if the organization in the schedule and shift differ.
- All active shifts, if no organization is configured for the schedule.
- Start Date: Select the date from which the shift applies to the work schedule.
- End Date: Select the date on which the shift stops applying to the work schedule. Leaving the End Date field empty implies that the shift is part of the work schedule indefinitely.
- Comments: Add any comments for clarification or detail.
- Shift: Select a shift that you want to
add to the work schedule. These shifts are available for
selection:
- Recurrence Settings tab:
- Repeat everyday: Select this option to apply the shift everyday without exception.
- Repeat daily: Select this option to include the shift every other day or every 3rd day. Enter a value in the Days Between Occurrences field.
- Repeat weekly: Select this option to use the shift on a regular weekly pattern. Select the days of the week that apply to this shift. Enter a value in the Weeks Between Occurrences field to include the shift every other week or every 3rd week.
- Repeat yearly: Select a date range for the shift that will recur every year.
- General Settings tab:

To add nonworking time, select Nonworking Time and
complete these fields:
- General Settings tab:
- Shift Type: Select whether you want to add the nonworking reason to a regular or an on-call shift.
- Nonworking Reason: Select the nonworking reason that applies to the nonworking time. For example, Sick.
- Start Date: Select the date from which the nonworking reason applies to the work schedule.
- End Date: Select the date on which the nonworking reason stops applying to the work schedule. Leaving the End Date field empty implies that the nonworking reason is part of the work schedule indefinitely.
- Comments: Add any comments for clarification or detail.
- Recurrence Settings tab:
- Repeat everyday: Select this option to apply the nonworking reason everyday without exception.

Repeat the steps for each shift and nonworking time that you want to apply to
this work schedule.
If you add two shifts that have the same priority to a weekday, only the shift that was created most recently is assigned.

Click Add.
The shift or nonworking reason is added to the work schedule.
