Add a Work Skill Group in Oracle Fusion Field Service

You can bundle selected work skills into work skill groups. This creates greater ease and flexibility for assigning skills to resources. You can continue to assign individual work skills and work skill groups, creating a more exact resource work skill record. You must define work skill groups to be used for capacity categories, if different work skills must consume quota from a single capacity category.

1. In Fusion Setup and Maintenance, go to Navigator > My Enterprise > Offering Setup. Select the Field Service offering. In the Scheduling and Dispatch functional area, select the Work Skills task. The Work Skills page displays all the work skills you've created so far.
2. In the header, select Work Skill Groups in the Setup field.
   The work skill groups you’ve created so far are displayed.
3. Click the plus icon.
   The Add Work Skill Group drawer opens.
4. Complete these fields:
   • Enabled: Move the slider to enable the work skill group. The work skill group is disabled by default, you must enable it to assign it to resources.
   • Allow Assignment to Resources: Move the slider if you want the work skill group to be assigned to a resource record. If a group is assigned to a resource, then that the resource obtains all the work skills defined for the group.
   • Add to Capacity Category: Move the slider if you want the work skill group to be assigned to a capacity category. If a capacity category contains a group of work skills, then an activity is considered a match to the category if it 'requires' at least one of work skills from the group.
   • Label: Enter a unique identifier for the work skill group. This identifier is mapped to the REST API.
   • Name: Enter a name for the work skill group. All supported languages are listed.
5. Click Add.
   The work skill group is added and is listed on the Work Skill Groups page. The Work Skill Groups page can display only 2000 work skills.
6. To edit the ratio of work skills in a group, click Edit Work Skills Ratio for the required work skill group.
   The Edit Work Skills Ratio drawer opens. The existing work skills are listed with a default ratio of zero (0).
7. Add the required ratio for each work skill.
   For example, let's say the installation type of activity requires estimation and electrical work skills. You can create a work skill group named Installation and add the ratio between 1 and 100 for these two skills.
8. Click Update when done.
9. To edit a work skill group, click Edit on the Work Skills Groups page.
   The Edit Work Skill Group: [Work skill group name] drawer opens, which is similar to the Add Work Skill Group drawer.
10. To delete a work skill group, click the delete icon on the Work Skills Groups page.
    The work skills that are part of the group are no longer available for the resource to which the work skill group was assigned.
