Add the Attachment Form Element to Required Pages and Forms

After creating the Attachment property, add it to the required pages or forms using the Attachment form element. This form element doesn’t work without an Attachment property, so you must create the property before starting this procedure.

You can add an Attachment form element to inventory forms when configuring Inventory Photo Attachments. The Attachment property must be created for the Inventory entity and associated with an OCI Object Storage application before you add it to the inventory form.

  1. Sign in as an administrator.
  2. Create an Attachment property.
  3. Click Configuration > Screens.
  4. Click Screens and select a custom form or standard page, such as Activity Details or an inventory form.

The Attachment form element is added to the selected custom form or standard page. If you add the element to an inventory form, mobile workers can capture and attach photos while adding or editing inventory, depending on how the form is launched from the inventory screen.

If you export the custom form or user types, the attachments and their validation settings for minimum and maximum images are also exported.

  5. Open the page or form to which you want to add the Attachment element.
  6. From the New element section, drag the Attachment element to the required section.
  7. Select the Attachment property for the element.
  8. Expand the Name translations section and add a name for the field in English and other required languages.
  9. To add a watermark to photos captured from this element, expand the Photo Settings section and enable Add watermark to photos.
  10. Expand the Validation value and validation section and set the validation rules for uploading photos.
You can define the minimum and maximum number of images that users must upload. The maximum range is 1 to 20 images, and the default range is 1 to 5 images.
  11. Expand the Validation error message section and add the message that users see when the required number of images isn’t uploaded.
  12. Click Publish.

Results:

The Attachment form element is added to the selected page or form. If Add watermark to photos is enabled, photos captured from this element include a visible watermark with location and date/time details.
Note: When you export custom forms or user types, the Attachment element configuration is exported, including photo validation settings and the Add watermark to photos setting.
