Use Two-Part Postal Codes for Travel Keys

If you operate in countries such as the United Kingdom, where the postal code is made up of two parts, for example, 'AA9A 9AA' you can create a travel key that supports this format. This makes estimation of travel time more accurate.

  1. Click Configuration > Statistics.
  2. Go to the Activity Travel Keys section and click Add Travel Key.
  3. In the Select organizations field, select the organization to which you want to add the travel key.
  4. Click the plus icon and select ZIP/Postal Code [czip].
  5. In the Length field, add the length of the key that you want to retain after the first word.
First word is considered as everything that appears before the first space in the property value.
  6. In the next field, select first word and X characters.

With this method, you're constructing the travel key by combining the first word with a specific number of characters from the second word. Hyphens ("-") within the property value are considered as spaces. The first word includes all characters that are before the first space or the first hyphen. Example:

Let’s say you specify the travel key as 'czip' with 'first word and X characters' and the 'Length' is specified as one (1), the travel keys corresponding to different zip code formats would be as follows:

    Zip code Travel key

    AA9A 9AA AA9A 9

    A9 9AA A9 9

    A9A 9AA A9A 9

    A99 9AA A99 9

    A99-9AA A99 9

  7. Click Add.
The travel keys are displayed on the Statistics page. If the size of the key exceeds, it is truncated to 50 characters.
  8. Click Apply Changes on the Statistics page.
