You can broadcast an activity to multiple users simultaneously, subject to the visibility
of users.
You can broadcast an activity or its details using these methods:
-
Broadcast an activity to eligible resources, so they can accept or reject it
-
Broadcast only activity details by sharing the activity through a group message
-
Broadcast only activity details to a user group by dragging the activity
Note: You must have the
Allow activity move between resources permission to
broadcast activities.
To broadcast the activity details to a user group by dragging the
activity:
-
Open the Dispatch Console.
-
Open the Collaboration window and click the new conversation
icon.
-
Click .
-
Select the user group to which you want to broadcast the activity.
-
To view the recipients, click Show Recipients.
-
To specify the days or hours after which the message would expire, select Expiry. Add a
number and select Days, Hours, or Minutes.
A broadcast activity can be available for a maximum of 10 days. Resources who are
offline see the broadcast when they become online. If a message expires by the time a
resource becomes online, it's deleted from the active chat; the resource can only see it
in the message history.
-
Click Start Broadcast.
-
Drag a pending activity to the Enter Message field in the
Collaboration window and then click the Send icon.
The recipients receive the activity details. If you had selected
Acknowledgment before sending the message, you can see the
number of users who read the message, who received the message, and the number of users to
whom the message wasn't delivered.
