Guidelines for Setting Up the Activity Details Page for Workflows
When setting up the Activity Details page, follow these guidelines to make it easier for your mobile workers to perform their work:
- Include all important information: The page should give mobile workers everything they need, such as site details, technical notes, neighbor information, or links to external resources.
- Show all activity-related forms and plug-ins: Display them directly in the workflow so users can find what they need in one place.
- Use buttons for extra pages: If a feature is not part of the workflow (for example, Inventory or History), make it accessible using buttons on the Activity Details page.
- Set visibility rules separately for the "Start activity" and "Complete activity" buttons: These buttons do not automatically depend on workflow steps, so you must configure their visibility in the Visual Form Editor.
- Use plugins for inventory: Workflows do not support standard inventory pages. If you require inventory access, add it as a plugin and link to it using a button on the Activity Details page.
- Keep Start and Complete pages simple: These actions should be quick so mobile workers can spend more time on the workflow pages that guide them through the activity.
By following these best practices, the workflow becomes the main guide for completing the task, with everything else serving as helpful supplementary information.
