View Extensible Attribute Values in Customer Contracts
This example shows you how to configure the application so that you can view your user-defined descriptive flexfields in your customer contracts.
In this example, you previously created a descriptive flexfield named Quote Number for your Oracle Subscription Management source documents. Follow these steps to display the extensible attribute for the quote number in the Edit Customer Contract page.
- Navigate to the Manage Descriptive Flexfields page.
- Enter VRM Source Document in the Name field and click Search.
- Click the VRM Source Document row.
- In the Actions menu, click Edit.
- In the Edit Descriptive Flexfield page, click Manage Contexts.
- In the Manage Contexts page, click Search.
- Highlight the FUSION_OSS row.
- In the Actions menu, click Edit.
- In the Context Sensitive Segments section in the Actions menu, click Create.
- In the Create Segment page, enter these values:
Field Value Name Quote Number Description Quote Number Code Automatically populated: Quote Number API Name Automatically populated: quoteNumber Enabled Yes Data Type Character Table Column SRC_ATTRIBUTE_CHAR41 Value Set 30 Prompt Quote Number Display Type Text Box Display Size 15 - Click Save and Close.
- In the Manage Descriptive Flexfields page, click Deploy Flexfield.
- To view your extensible attributes in a contract, sign out and then sign in again.
- Open your customer contract in the Edit Customer Contract page and navigate to the Line Details section of the Promised Details tab. The quote number for the source document captured in the descriptive flexfield is displayed.
Note: You can also configure and display extensible attributes at the source
document line level. In this case, you need to enter VRM Source Document Lines in the
Name field in step 2 and then follow the rest of the steps shown in the example. Like
extensible attribute values at the source document level, your extensible attribute
values at the line level will appear in the Line Details section of the Promised Details
tab in the Edit Customer Contract page.
