Create a Complementary Fiscal Document for a Tax Correction

The fiscal document tax amount is the tax amount indicated in the fiscal document whereas the tax amount is calculated based on the tax configuration.

Taxes are not automatically calculated for complementary fiscal documents for tax correction. For XML imported complementary fiscal documents, the fiscal document tax amount is copied to the Tax Amount field. For manually entered complementary fiscal documents, you must enter the tax amount correction in the Fiscal Document Tax Amount field. To manually create a complementary fiscal document for a tax correction:

  1. From the Fiscal Document Capture work area in Costing, navigate to the Manage Inbound Fiscal Documents task.
  2. Click Add to create a new fiscal document.
  3. Enter the fiscal flow as STANDARD COMPL for complementary fiscal documents.
  4. Select the parent document as the original fiscal document.
  5. Enter the other header information and click Save.
  6. Go to the Lines region and add fiscal document lines.
  7. Select the line as the fiscal document line from the original fiscal document. The tax determinants from the original fiscal document are copied to this line.
  8. Select the type as Tax to indicate a tax correction. The quantity and unit price are copied from the original fiscal document line as a reference and click Save.
  9. Go to the Taxes tab and manually enter the tax lines.
  10. Enter Fiscal Document Tax Amount as the tax amount correction. The downstream processes consider this tax amount and click Save.
  11. In the Actions menu, click Capture Fiscal Attributes. Enter additional fiscal attributes if necessary.
  12. In the Actions menu, click Validate Fiscal Document. Taxes are not calculated in this case.
  13. Validate the fiscal document.
    1. In the Holds and Validation Errors region, check for a hold or validation error.
    2. Correct the invalid information and release the hold for this fiscal document.
    3. Validate the fiscal document again.
      When there is no hold and no validation error, the fiscal document status changes to Captured. A payables invoice is created automatically but the receipt is not created.
  14. Review the generated invoice.
    1. From the Invoices work area in Payables, navigate to the Manage Invoices task.
    2. Search for the generated invoice.
    3. Review the invoice header, lines, and taxes.
      Note: The invoice line amount is zero and tax lines are copied from the complementary fiscal document tax lines. In the Transaction Taxes region, the tax amount in the invoice is copied from the fiscal document tax amount.
