Group ID in Journal Spreadsheet

When you open the journal spreadsheet using the Create Journal in Spreadsheet task, the Group ID field is either empty or it has a value. The GLDI_GROUP_ID_AUTO_GENERATED profile option controls the field's behavior and group ID assignment.

Here’s how the profile option settings affect the group ID.

No (default)	Your user ID	Yes	You can accept the default value or change it to another number.
Yes	None	No	When you submit the journal, the group ID is automatically assigned to the journal and appears in the Confirmation message. The ID is generated from a sequence.

Note: Use the Manage General Ledger Profile Options task to set the profile value at the Site level.
