Reference Currency for Pricing Dimension Bands

You can use a reference currency to help simplify the creation and maintenance of your pricing dimension bands.

After you define your reference currency, you don't need to define and maintain pricing bands for each entered currency. Instead, you only need to create and maintain pricing dimension bands in a single currency for pricing dimension amount segments using pricing bands.

You can also use amount bands to segment your pricing dimension structures. You can define amount bands for several attributes, such as the selling amount, list price amount, and base price amount, along with any amount defined within an extensible numeric attribute.

When you define a reference currency, Revenue Management uses the applicable pricing dimension amount’s reference currency equivalent when evaluating and assigning the segment band value of the pricing band amount.

To determine the reference currency equivalent amount:

  1. Convert the source document line's applicable amount to the reference currency using the reference currency conversion rate information.
  2. Evaluate this reference currency equivalent amount against the pricing bands, which are assigned to the standalone selling price profile defined in the reference currency.

The application then stamps the resulting pricing band segment on the performance obligation or promised detail line.
