Using Replace Mode When Uploading Combinations

If you update cross-validation combination sets from an external data management application, you might decide to completely overwrite the existing combinations in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.

Let’s say your company made organizational changes that affect the combinations for the Valid CompanyLobProducts cross-validation combination set. You changed the combinations in your external data management application and now want to update the cross-validation combination set in Oracle Cloud ERP.

The existing cross-validation combination set in Oracle Cloud ERP currently has 100,000 combinations and you need to make the following changes:

  1. Add 10,000 new combinations for the new companies.
  2. Update the effective dates for 5,000 existing combinations.
  3. Delete the 1,000 combinations that are no longer needed.

These changes will result in a new total of 109,000 combinations, which is 100,000 + 10,000 – 1,000.

Here's a summary of the steps that you would take:

  1. Add the new company values to the Company value set in Oracle Cloud ERP.
  2. Generate the CSV file in the external data management application for all 109,000 combinations.
  3. From the Combination Sets tab on the Manage Cross-Validations page, upload the combinations data for the Valid CompanyLoBProducts cross-validation combination set.
  4. Run the Manage Account Combination Validation Rules process with the Import action set to Replace mode. You're using Replace mode because the external data management application provided a new file with all the combinations.
Note: It's recommended that you perform combinations maintenance when journals and transactions aren’t being entered.
