Overview of Joint Venture Account Sets

A joint venture account set contains filter criteria for identifying transactions for processing in Oracle Joint Venture Management. You can create and assign an account set to the following items:

  • Joint venture definitions

Use an account set in a joint venture definition to identify the distributable accounts for a joint venture. Distributable accounts contain the transactions that you want to split and distribute among the joint venture partners.

You can also use an account set to identify accounts as "distribution only" for a joint venture. Distribution only accounts contain transactions that aren’t directly related to costs or revenue. These transactions are split to create distributions, but the distributions are not invoiced to stakeholders.

  • Ownership definition assignment rules

Use an account set in an ownership definition assignment rule to assign an ownership definition or direct billed stakeholder to transactions in a specific account or set of accounts identified as distributable for a joint venture.

  • Overhead methods

Use an account set in an overhead method to identify transactions to use in the calculation of overhead. You can assign an account set to an overhead method that uses General Ledger and subledger transactions as the basis for calculating overhead.

You can define each account set directly in the Account Sets work area. The work area also enables you to use a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to define multiple account sets and upload them all at once from the spreadsheet to the work area.

Joint venture accountants and joint venture application administrators can create and manage account sets.
