Set Up a Descriptive Flexfield in Oracle Fusion Cloud Project Management

Set up a descriptive flexfield to associate a joint venture to a project in Oracle Project Management. This adds a field to the Manage Financial Project Settings application that you can use to associate a joint venture to a project.

The descriptive flexfield will be defined as a global flexfield segment. For more information about descriptive flexfields, see Overview of Descriptive Flexfields.

You must be a user with the Application Implementation Consultant role to perform this task.

1. In Setup and Maintenance, click the Task menu and search on Manage Descriptive Flexfields.
2. On Manage Descriptive Flexfields, complete these fields and click Search.

   Field	Value
   Flexfield Code search	PJF%
   Module	Project Definition

3. In the results, select the row for Project Descriptive Flexfield and click Edit.
4. On Edit Descriptive Flexfield: Project Descriptive Flexfield, click Add.
5. On Create Segment, in the Name field, enter a name such as Joint Ventures for the segment that identifies this as the joint venture association segment.
6. For the Table Column, choose an attribute from the available character-based attribute columns. Remember this attribute, because in the next task, you’ll need to enter it in the Joint Venture System Options.

7. Click Create Value Set, and then complete these fields:

   Field	Value
   Value Set Code	Enter a value of your choosing, such as Joint Venture Name.
   Description	Enter a description.
   Module	Search for and select Joint Venture Management.
   Value Type	Enter Table and tab out of the field to display additional fields that you need to complete.
   Data Type	Character
   From Clause	jv_joint_ventures_vl
   Value Column Name	joint_venture_short_name
   ORDER_BY Clause	joint_venture_short_name

8. Click Save and Close.
9. Click Save and Close on the Create Segment window.
10. Click Save and Close on the Edit Descriptive Flexfield window.
11. On Manage Descriptive Flexfields, select the row with Project Descriptive Flexfield.
12. Click Deploy Flexfield.

    After the deployment is complete, the Deployment Status displays a green check mark.

You’ve successfully set up the descriptive flexfield, which you can use to associate a project with a joint venture.
