Create a Transaction Type
A transaction type specifies how Receivables manages the invoice. You can define the transaction type used to create invoices,
- From the Setup and Maintenance work area, navigate to the Manage Transaction Types task.
- On the Manage Transaction Types page, click Create.
- On the Create Transaction Type page, select the transaction type set as the reference data set of this transaction type.
- Optionally, select the legal entity as the source legal entity of the transaction.
- Enter the name and description.
- Select the transaction class as Invoice.
- Select the transaction status as Open.
- Clear the Open Receivables check box so that the invoice does not update the customer balance.
- Select the Allow Freight check box.
- Clear the Post to GL check box so that a journal entry is not created for the invoice.
- Click Save and Close.
