Create a Transaction Type

A transaction type specifies how Receivables manages the invoice. You can define the transaction type used to create invoices,

Follow these steps:
  1. From the Setup and Maintenance work area, navigate to the Manage Transaction Types task.
  2. On the Manage Transaction Types page, click Create.
  3. On the Create Transaction Type page, select the transaction type set as the reference data set of this transaction type.
  4. Optionally, select the legal entity as the source legal entity of the transaction.
  5. Enter the name and description.
  6. Select the transaction class as Invoice.
  7. Select the transaction status as Open.
  8. Clear the Open Receivables check box so that the invoice does not update the customer balance.
  9. Select the Allow Freight check box.
  10. Clear the Post to GL check box so that a journal entry is not created for the invoice.
  11. Click Save and Close.
