Preparation for Processing Consolidated Invoices

After you complete the setup for Consolidated Billing, transaction charge lines originating from Order Management and Subscription Management for the applicable customer accounts are eligible for consolidation.

The predefined transaction source ORA_Consolidated Invoice is assigned by default to charge lines enabled for consolidated billing.

ORA_Consolidated Invoice has these settings, set to read-only:

  • Name
  • Type: Imported
  • Invalid Line Option: Reject Invoice
  • All Import Information settings

The predefined AutoInvoice grouping rule ORA_Consolidated Invoice is assigned by default to the ORA_Consolidated Invoice transaction source. The ORA_Consolidated Invoice grouping rule uses mandatory transaction attributes only.

Note: You must ensure that all charge lines have the same values for the mandatory grouping attributes. If any mandatory grouping attributes differ on individual charge lines, such as currency, transaction type, or customer bill-to site, then these charge lines are created as separate invoices.

The ORA_Consolidated Invoice grouping rule also includes these attributes as reference information on each line of a consolidated invoice:

  • Purchase Order
  • Purchase Order Date
  • Purchase Order Revision
  • Comments
  • Internal Notes
  • Reason Code

The predefined AutoInvoice line ordering rule ORA_Consolidated Invoice is assigned by default to the ORA_Consolidated Invoice grouping rule. The ORA_Consolidated Invoice line ordering rule uses the one Order By Transaction Attribute ORIGINAL_BATCH_SOURCE_ID in ascending order. This groups the Order Management and Subscription Management charge lines within a consolidated invoice by Line Transaction Source.
