Enable Required Features for Email Receipt Forwarding

To process receipts through email, ensure the following features are configured:

Enable Electronic Receipt Processing

Electronic receipt processing must be enabled for your business unit to process emailed or imported receipts and automatically create expense items.

Here's how you can do this:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Auto Submission and Matching Options task.
  2. In the Electronic Receipt Setup section:
    1. Set Enable Electronic Receipts Processing to Yes.
    2. If your organization uses a custom forwarding email alias, enter it in the Custom Alias field.
  3. Save your changes.

If you configure a custom alias, the forwarding email address uses the configured alias.

Note:

In the Electronic Receipt Setup section, the Forwarding Email field stays blank and is generated automatically the first time you enable Expenses Agent for a business unit and save your changes.

You don't need to manually obtain it or run the scheduled process that was previously required to generate it.

Enable Credit Card Notifications

Credit card notifications allow users to receive email updates about receipt processing outcomes, such as success or failure messages.

Here's how you can enable credit card notifications for your business unit:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the Manage Expenses System Options task.
  2. Set Enable Notifications for Credit Card Charges to Yes.

See Enable Notifications for Credit Card Charges for more information.
